To get a bucket load of internet traffic is the goal of every internet marketer but unfortunately it's easier said than achieved. The question at hand then (especially if you are new to internet marketing) is how do you increase internet traffic to your site?

There are three fundamental ways to get internet traffic to your site. Some of these methods have fairly rapid results, some are more long term and some are free while others will require you dipping into your pocket.
You probably know by now how important it is to have an opt-in list--but do you really understand the driving force behind it? If you don't, no matter because that's what this article is about--explaining the psychological engine powering your opt-in list.

1. Building A Bond

If a total stranger walked up to you and gave you some pitch about how they've developed some incredible new system that's making them a ton of money--and how, for a small price, they are willing to cut you in on their goldmine--would you bite? Probably not!

Now let's look at that scenario from a different perspective.
So you've struggled, labored, sweated and poured lots of love into designing and building your website. And phewee ain't it just the pertiest thing for sore eyes! But just as in real, life so goes it for the virtual realm--beauty will only get you so far. So you've got to put that site to work! And how do you do that? Get it out there...put it right in the bulls eye of the search engines! That's the way you're going to get traffic to your site.
Changing your domain name once your site is well-established can turn out to be a very costly venture, so the solution is to select the correct domain name right from the get-go.

DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION

Not too long ago I used to preach and practice that you should "Never register your domain name through your web hosting company however attractive the deal might appear" Why? Because in the past it was not uncommon for web hosts to react somewhat angrily to the idea of you transferring those ooooh so delicious annual registration fees to a competitor.
Hailing from parts unknown and circumstances that could be best described as humble, for quite some time now, the Keyword Meta-Tag with its better known younger sibling, referred to in the business as The Keyword (a la rapper style)or simply "The Word" by close associates and friends, have dominated the SEO stage with energy, style, wit and unmistakable charisma.
The sign on the door said AAA. This had to be it. I inched the door open and was instantly overcome by a tsunami sound wave of chanting: YES SIR! ADCENT FIXMASTER SIR! YES SIR! ADCENT FIXMASTER SIR!

Whoa! What had I gotten myself into? What was this, some kinda cult?

Alright I'll admit it. I'm an addict--an adsense junkie! But it was counseling I needed not some nutters' army! I tried to ease my way out without being noticed, but too late, the bald dude on the podium noticed me.
Conventional wisdom normally dictates that more is better than less, but as far as online marketing goes, a good rule of thumb is to toss conventional wisdom screaming and pleading out the 21st floor window and rather abide by the Less-Equals-More Principle that has many points of application in web marketing. But first let me back track a little to better explain the paradox that is this principle.

Halo-Effective Internet Marketing

Research has shown that good-looking people have a distinctly unfair advantage in contemporary society over their not-so-attractive counterparts. This unfair advantage is what is known as the Halo Effect!

What Is The Halo Effect?

The halo effect describes our natural tendency to be much more trusting, tolerant and compliant towards good-looking individuals in contrast to the not-so-attractive.
The year 1873 was a pivotal moment in history for the little-known fact that it was then the man who was described as knowing-all-that-there-is-to-know-in-the-world, died. That man was renowned British economist and philosopher, John Stuart Mill.

Unquestionably John Stuart Mill was an exceptionally intelligent, well-read and knowledgeable individual, but to ascribe him the ability of knowing-all-that-there-is-to-know-in-the-world, even in 1873, is to put it mildly, truly stretching the limits of belief.

Is Your Site Topic A Google Adsense Accelerant?

If you didn't attend the funeral of Google Adsense despair not, because you are not alone. Though much has been written about the untimely death of Adsense, the truth of the matter is that Google Adsense is alive and very well.

If you are new to the whole Google-Adsense-Is-Dead brouhaha let's tread back in time a little to get you up to speed.
Not so long ago there was a booming cottage industry that catered to novice internet marketers who were in a bat-outta-hell rush to get their websites indexed by Google.

The purveyors of those services that catered to the burgeoning get-indexed-quickly-by-Google crowd usually directed internet marketing newbies to buy expensive one-way links for the duration of one month from high page rank websites or more specifically, high PR web pages.
