Here are three ways to know if YOU are confusing a sex-based association of convenience with a loving committed relationship.

#1 Women Put Too Much Stock on Words

One of the primary tools the player has in his arsenal is a smooth tongue. Words of love flow from his lips, often within hours or days of meeting. A woman desperate for someone to call her own will latch onto those words like a life raft.
Women female gender seems to have an innate desire to improve, nurture, and organize things. Nothing wrong with that, except when it is turned towards a romantic relationship.

People are who and what they are. They don't change because we see potential in them. They don't change because we want them to be more, better, different. Snakes bite, wolves howl, and scorpions sting.
Woman complain frequently about male/female communication. "Men don't communicate" these ladies say in frustration. Women complain that men give one-word answers, don't elaborate and tell the entire story in a play by play fashion, and that it feelings like "pulling teeth" to get information out of them.

Being Like A Man Is Not Always A Bad Thing!

Women operate on a different dynamic and love to share their feelings, experiences and thoughts with others.
After six months (or even years), the man of your dreams, the sweetest guy in the world suddenly needs space.

You've noticed a change lately...he's been unhappy, uncommunicative, argumentative. Sex has dropped off to the point and he is either not interested or "too tired" most of the time. You begin to wonder if he is seeing someone else.

Why Dating is a Sport - Just Like Fishing!

Some women don't understand that that dating is a sport - just like baseball, hockey, basketball and fishing.

These are the women at home alone weekend after weekend, fearful of flirting with a guy or taking the initiative to engage him in some way. And asking a man out on a date is unimaginable! Feeling that they are "too shy" or "too afraid of rejection" these ladies don't understand that flirting and simple conversation such as "Hi there! My name is Deborrah, what's yours?" is pretty much all they need to do to get things rolling.

The Phenomenon of Internet Dating

Over the last 15 years, Internet dating has gained in popularity as a medium to meet romantic partners. Busy single professionals acknowledge having few opportunities to meet other available singles.

I believe the Internet, if used effectively, can be a great tool for screening out the freaks, weirdos, neurotics and game players, and screening in people that live in your general vicinity that you might never otherwise meet.

Are You Wasting Your Time Loving "Suckas?"

I was born and raised in San Francisco, which is known as The City, San Fran, and even the hated 'Frisco. A few years ago, it became known as the Sucka Free city. I love it!

However, there are still people around that are so out of the loop, they don't know what the term "sucka" means. A couple of them called my radio show some weeks back, attempting to correct my grammatical error by informing me that "sucka" was not a real word per the Oxford dictionary and that the correct term is "sucker.
A young woman wrote in to my dating advice column recently and asked me: "What qualities are absolutely essential in a partner or in an ideal relationship? I have a pretty huge list and want to share some of them with you

o affectionate
o unconditional love for each other
o emotional support, connection and harmony
o caring, kind, compassionate
o easygoing, calm
o stability, commitment, loyal
o understanding, accepting (accepts me as I am)
o tolerant
o appreciation and love for each other
o enjoys intimacy regularly
o sense of humor
o positive outlook (happy and optimistic)

I am seeking this man and hope to find this type of love some day.
As an advice columnist specializing in Black and interracial relationships, I frequently receive letters from both parents and children seeking understanding and guidance in navigating the conflicts which arise in their relationship. The issue of interracial dating is fraught with the greatest amount of emotional upheaval for both parties.

A reader writes: "My situation is probably typical, but for me it's very confusing.
Whether you are a teen new to dating, or recently single again after a breakup or divorce, it pays to date smart! Learn to recognize the behaviors that indicate your date is not being 100% truthful.

Lies of Omission

Your date conveniently "forgot" to mention that there was a spouse at home, a baby on the way with an ex, a live-in partner, or a pending indictment for stalking.

Why "Nice Guys" Suck and Women Don't Want You

There are many men that feel they are a "nice guy" and that women are crazy to pass them over. Well, I have some news for you dudes.

Nobody cares that you are "nice."

See, the problem is that "nice" guys put themselves on some sort of pedestal. Nice guys like to think they are superior to other men, that they are better at relationships, and that by virtue of their "niceness" are more deserving of a woman's romantic attentions.
