I find it absolutely amazing how the internet has just permeated into every aspect of our lives. Money used to be represented by gold, copper or other metals. The value of money used to be backed by the amount of gold the issuer had. Then when money was taken off the gold standard, it became represented by paper. The piece of paper in itself had no real value.

There was a recent blood-bath reported on Wall Street which spread to stock exchanges throughout the world. Billions of dollars disappeared overnight. Actually, the reality is, the money didn't just disappear. It was transferred from the naive to those who knew better.

Stocks have always been touted as a good way to make money. The stock market itself has been described as being akin to a living organism, moving up and down seemingly at its own will.

I'm not a professional tennis player. I'm not even a tennis player. The last time I touched a tennis racket was 5 years ago. But I did read about how a professional tennis player aims to hit as many balls to the opponent to make him miss, in order to win. An amateur , on the other hand, aims to try to catch as many balls as possible, aiming not to make any mistakes till his opponent eventually makes a mistake and causes himself to lose.

It's not just about the product you know.

I realised maybe there was going to be a problem with my ability to run a decent business when I found that I was buying more products than I was selling ! So I vowed to not buy the next product that I saw advertised, and stop to analyse why I wanted to buy it instead.

I used to think a good product sells itself.
